  • Are all walk-in baths and walk-in showers the same?
    No, they are different. Both provide safety and accessibility, but a walk-in tub lets you bathe with independence and dignity in a comfortable seated position, while a walk-in shower requires a bit more physical action to enter and exit. Walk-in baths also offer more comfort features, such as hydrotherapy jets and a heated backrest.

    A walk-in tub shower combo is a great alternative if you want the best of both bathing options. The Walk-In Bath can easily be transformed into a hybrid solution with the addition of a Shower Package.

  • Will the Walk-In Bath fit in my home?
    The KOHLER Walk-In Bath is designed to fit in the space occupied by a traditional bathtub. If you have that much space, you will likely be able to get one of our baths. The door location on your Walk-In Bath be determined by the placement of the plumbing in your home. An optional Shower Package is offered with your bath to allow you to stand and shower. The gooseneck shower arm and KOHLER Bath Screen are fixed to the bath wall, so they will not affect the overall size of your new bath.   • What size water heater is required for a Walk-In Bath?
    The Walk-In Bath is designed for use with standard residential water heaters. Depending on your geographic location, a 40, 50, or 75 gallon water heater can be sufficient. During your in-home quote appointment, your KOHLER Authorized Dealer will review the age, condition, and volume of your water heater and determine if it is adequate for your new Walk-In Bath.
  • Can I purchase the Shower Package for a Walk-In Bath that is already installed?
    Unfortunately, Walk-In Baths that have been previously installed cannot be retrofitted with the Shower Package. This is because your KOHLER Authorized Dealer is unable to perform the extensive plumbing and electrical work required to add the accessories.
  • Can I see the Walk-In Bath in a showroom?
    The KOHLER Walk-In Bath is not currently available in a showroom setting. However, during your free in-home quote, your KOHLER Authorized Dealer will share videos, photography and other materials that show the Walk-In Bath in detail, including its dimensions and features.

    While KOHLER does not offer a bariatric Walk-In Bath model, the standard walk-in bath (54x38x40) is designed to accommodate 95% of people ranging from 5’0” to 6’2”. The bath's extra-wide door and seat provide ample room for movement and comfortable seating for users of various sizes.     You can turn your KOHLER Walk-In Bath into this hybrid option by adding the Shower Package, which features the gooseneck shower arm and KOHLER Bath Screen.   • How long does it take to fill?

    The number of jets in your bath is not as important as the placement, positioning and the quality of the jets. KOHLER offers ten adjustable hydrotherapy jets in our Walk-In Bath.     The multifunction handshower comes with the KOHLER Walk-In Bath and allows you to remain seated as you shower, offering three spray settings to target hard-to-reach areas. The gooseneck shower arm, which is included in the Shower Package, is an add-on to the Walk-In Bath that gives you the option to stand inside the tub as you shower.

  • Can I use Epsom salt in the Walk-In Bath?

  • Will adding KOHLER LuxStone bath walls extend the renovation process?
    No, your bath walls will not extend your renovation time. The walls will be installed at the same time as your bath. Because they are designed to be measured and cut to your bathroom’s dimensions on-site, they are faster and easier to install than other brands' bath walls.
  • Do the bath walls come with a warranty?
    KOHLER LuxStone bath walls come with the same Lifetime Limited Warranty as your Walk-In Bath.
  • What color and pattern options may I choose from?

  • Will the bath wall dimensions fit my bathroom?
    LuxStone bath walls are designed to be cut and installed on-site at the same time as your bath installation. This means that no matter the size or shape of your bathroom, your KOHLER Authorized Dealer can custom-fit the wall panels to your space.
  • Does the bath come with handrails?
    The KOHLER Walk-In Bath features a grab bar on the bath’s interior for easier transitioning from sitting to standing, as well as more comfortable entry and exit. The rim of the bath also acts as a handrail, with comfortable grooves that are easy to grip as you move throughout the bath.

    1. A walk-in bath allows the user to stay safely seated and comfortably reclined while bathing, making it the best option for those that cannot stand for long periods of time. A walk-in tub provides a wider range of accessibility options for those with balance or stability problems as well. The KOHLER® Walk-In Bath comes with a multifunction handshower so customers can enjoy a shower experience while safely seated.
